"Circus for the Brain"
NeuroCircus isn’t your average circus. As well as teaching and performing acrobatics, hula hooping, juggling and more, NeuroCircus aims to develop physical strength, mental resilience and a sense of connection to others.
Founded by mental health professionals and circus performers, NeuroCircus is 'Circus for the Brain'. We are a not-for-profit community circus that emphasises the social, physical and health benefits that already exist in the wonderful art that is circus. Circus is a unique art form known for embracing all races, religions, levels of ability and sexual and gender identities. NeuroCircus takes this one step further and aims to create supportive spaces to actively foster positive mental health in an inclusive environment.
Community fairs, office parties, school incursions... If you have the space to spin a hoop and have a go on a unicycle, we can bring the circus to you. Open workshops enable participants to come and go as they please, while structured workshops run for a set time with the potential for performance outcomes. With a strong focus on inclusivity, workshops can be tailored to suit all occasions and demographics.
Family-friendly circus workshop designed for parents and grandparents alike to participate together with the younger generations. In these workshops, same-household groups or families will find themselves working together to create counterbalances and acrobatic structures, or juggling objects between each other. Multigenerational Workshops help to build a unique bond while also creating unforgettable memories.
Are their certain at-risk groups within your community, organisation or school group? Our Head of Mental Health will devise and implement standalone or longer-term programs which target this group. This may include anything from anti-bullying campaigns, drug and alcohol abuse and heightened suicide rates, to resilience training and group cohesion. Contact us with your specific need then let circus do the work.
Are you a community organisation that aligns with our ethos? Or a large corporation keen to support up-and-coming artists? Find out more about our artists and performances available for booking.
